He is President of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, Co-Chair of the Council of Engineers for the Energy Transition, academician of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences at the Vatican, Commissioner of the UN Broadband Commission for Development, Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah Honorary Distinguished Professor at Sunway University, and SDG Advocate for UN Secretary General António Guterres.

Luis Felipe López-Calva is the Global Director for Poverty and Equity at the World Bank Group. López-Calva has over 30 years of professional experience working with international institutions and advising national governments. He rejoined the World Bank in 2022 from the United Nations Development Programme, where he served as UN Assistant Secretary General and Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean since 2018.

Senior Economist, Poverty and Equity, World Bank

Maria Eugenia Genoni is a Senior Economist with the Poverty and Equity Global Practice of the World Bank. She is Global Lead for the Poverty, Prosperity, and Planet Report, the Statistical Modernization and Operations program, and the Real-Time Monitoring initiative. She has led analytical work and operations on statistics, poverty and inequality, and household risk management in the Latin America and the Caribbean, South Asia, and Middle East and North Africa regions. Maria’s areas of expertise include poverty measurement and survey design, statistical capacity building, migration and forced displacement, and analytics related to poverty and economic mobility. 

Christoph Lakner

Program Manager, Global Poverty and Inequality Data, Development Data Group, World Bank

Christoph Lakner is the Program Manager for Global Poverty and Inequality Data in the Development Data Group (Indicators and Data team) at the World Bank. He is also involved in the World Bank’s global poverty monitoring: he leads the Poverty and Inequality Data team in the Development Data Group, which co-produces the Poverty and Inequality Platform (PIP), the home of the World Bank’s global poverty numbers. He is a Global Lead of the Poverty, Prosperity, and Planet Report.
